Recently I realized that having too much time on one's hands can also be a problem for me. To get into a state of flow, the time available and the time it takes to complete the tasks in my mind should be roughly equal.
When time to complete the work increases, we use that extra time to work. When time to complete the work decreases, we use the remaining allotted time to still pick up next set of tasks.
I think the difficulty in ending without a strict end time is because of this. Having a strict end time not only gives clarity to our family of our work hours, it also enables us to operate in a state of flow.
I enjoyed this post. How does your workflow look like? How do you get started and what tools do you use?
I admire your work and how you deliver many features in short periods of time. I can learn 1 or 2 things from your workflow.
Thanks for the question! I'll add it to my list of things to write about :)
